Placing Holds

Danbury residents may request up to 25 items at a time. When items are ready for pickup, patrons will be notified by phone or by email depending upon their account preferences. Place a hold by logging into your library account or by calling the library.

Suggest a Purchase

For items published within the last year, library card holders may suggest an item for the library to purchase. Please note that the decision to purchase a library item is based on the Library’s materials selection policy.

We will make every effort to get the item to you as quickly as we can, however it may take some time before the item is available. If your suggested item is purchased, we will place a hold on it and call or email you to know when it is ready for pickup. All items are held for three (3) days.

If we decide not to purchase the item, we may try to get a copy for you via interlibrary loan from another library.  If we do not purchase the item and it is not available through interlibrary loan, we will notify you.

InterLibrary Loan

If you are a library card holder and the title you are looking for is more than a year old, please fill out an interlibrary loan form. We will try to order the item from another library. You may request up to 5 items through interlibrary loan at one time. Interlibrary loan materials may take some time to retrieve, depending upon the location of the loaning library. We will notify you when your material has arrived and keep it on the hold shelf for one week.

Unfortunately, we are unable to order textbooks through interlibrary loan.
