Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP offers nutrition assistance to eligible individuals and families and allows recipients to purchase healthy, nutritious food at participating entities.

SNAP benefits are deposited monthly to an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) account. Account holders are given a plastic EBT card that can be swiped like a regular credit/debit card.

End Hunger CT!, a statewide anti-hunger and food security organization, can assist in finding out if you may be eligible to receive SNAP benefits. Their staff will pre-screen you and assist you in submitting an application.
