Track your reading this summer for a chance to win one of our grand prizes!
Visit the library on or after June 20th to pick up and register your bookmark tracker.
If 700 readers have register their bookmark trackers online, we will slime Mayor Alves with primordial ooze at our End of Summer Party!
Children and teens that participate can pick up a free book the last week of summer to keep courtesy of the Friends of the Danbury Library.
Registration begins on June 20th. Join us for our summer kickoff party from 11am-1pm.
How to Play
Age categories are suggestions – choose whichever tracking method works best for you! Bookmark trackers are available at the Main Floor and Junior Floor information desks.
Pre-Readers
Activity Sheet
Complete our activity page of early literacy activities. Return the completed sheet to the Junior Floor desk and take home a book to keep!
Kids & Teens
Calendar Tracker
Challenge yourself to read every day! Color, mark, or circle each day you read for 20 minutes or more. Sticking to a daily reading goal can build healthy reading habits over time.
Teens & Adults
Book Stack Tracker
Color the books in the stack according to the legend. Don’t worry about the order, just challenge yourself to read a variety!
Grand Prizes
During the last week of summer, report your reading achievements to earn your digital ticket and select the prizes you’d like a chance to win!

Creature Containment: Statewide Passport
June 15 – August 21
Dinosaurs, giant plants, carnivorous squirrels, and other awesome creatures have escaped containment and are hiding in libraries, state parks, and museums to keep cool this summer! We need your help to collect them all and get them safely home.
How does it work?
1. Pick up a containment booklet from the Junior Desk.
2. For each participating location that you visit, you receive a special stamp in your containment booklet.
3. Return your booklet with at least 5 stamps to one of the participating libraries and enter to win 2 tickets to Mystic Aquarium by Friday, August 21st.

Governor’s Challenge/CT State Library
Looking for more summer fun?
The CT State Library is challenging readers to complete one activity in each of our four categories:
- Reading/Library
- Community
- Outdoor
- Connecticut
Each learner who completes at least one activity from each of the four categories and send in their challenge form, will receive keychain tag via the USPS!
