Volunteering

For Teens (17 and younger)

Teen volunteers are the library’s helping hands! They help prepare crafts for storytime, tutor younger students, and bring energy to the Summer Reading Program.

To be considered, please fill out an initial inquiry to tell us a little more about your interest and availability for volunteering. Complete and submit the online form or scan or print and return the paper form in person at the information desk. Please give time for your application to be reviewed.

Applicants must be older than 11.

For Adults (18 and older)

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Danbury Library. We will begin accepting applications for adult volunteers on 6/10/24 for some limited roles.

  • Court ordered community service

    DAILY BREAD FOOD PANTRY
    Daily Bread is run entirely by its dedicated volunteers. Volunteers pick up and receive food, stock shelves, help clients select and carry their food and do more behind-the-scenes work.

    NEW OPPORTUNITIES
    The mission of New Opportunities is to improve the quality of life for economically disadvantaged individuals by providing the necessary resources to increase their standard of living, foster self-improvement, and maximize self-empowerment.

    PLYMOUTH COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY
    Volunteers are needed to staff the food pantry. Individuals should call or email the food pantry for more information.

    MASTER’S MANNA
    Coordinates community service work for offenders referred by the court as a form of restitution for their offense.

    HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
    The mission of New Opportunities is to improve the quality of life for economically disadvantaged individuals by providing the necessary resources to increase their standard of living, foster self-improvement, and maximize self-empowerment.

    FRIENDS of the Danbury Library
    FRIENDS of the DANBURY LIBRARY is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization working to further the educational and informational needs of the Danbury area through its support of the Danbury Library. The FRIENDS administers and invests funds raised, donated, granted or endowed for the benefit of the Danbury Library and the public interest.
