Junior Sewing and Mending Workshop

In this fun and creative sewing class, kids will learn how to fix their clothes instead of throwing them away! You’ll learn how to sew on buttons, repair ripped seams, and give your favorite clothes a second life.

Not only will you discover how easy it is to mend, but you’ll also be helping the planet by reducing waste. Come join us and learn simple, sustainable sewing skills that will last a lifetime! All materials and tools are provided and sustainably sourced!

This program is intended for children ages 7 – 12. For safety reasons, parent supervision is required. Some materials, including needles, will be used, and the Danbury Library is committed to ensuring a safe and positive experience for all participants.

This workshop is part of the Danbury Library’s Sustainable Living Initiative, showing how creative upcycling can be both fun and eco-friendly. Learn the techniques at the library, and take them with you to practice sustainable living for life.
