Applications may be mailed, faxed, emailed or hand-delivered to the CT LAB.
Applications available in English and Spanish.
Eligibility
Must be a resident of Connecticut who…
- is blind or has a visual impairment that makes them unable to comfortably read print books
- or has a perceptual or reading disability
- or has a physical disability that makes it hard to hold or manipulate a book or to focus or move the eyes as needed to read a print book

- CT LAB provides the player
- Borrow 3 cartridges loaded with up to 6 books
- Mail back cartridges and receive next set
Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD)
- Over 100,000 special-format books, magazines, and music scores
- Download BARD mobile on iOS or Android
Print Braille-On-Demand
- Request and receive one hard-copy braille title per month
- Retain for personal use
Danbury Library Hub
The Danbury Library is one of nine libraries in Connecticut that have volunteered to serve as a hub for Connecticut Library for Accessible Books (CTLAB), a division of the Connecticut State Library.
Each CTLAB hub library features an informational display showcasing CTLAB resources and services, along with digital talking book players and cartridges available for demonstration.
