“A Storied Tradition” with the Institute for American Indian Studies

Darlene Kascak of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation will bring history to life as she shares traditional Native American stories in the longhouse fashion.

The oral tradition of storytelling has been used by Indigenous people to pass on history, culture, and life lessons from one generation to the next since time immemorial.

These stories teach valuable life lessons such as how to live in harmony with nature, how to be a good human being, the consequences for bad behavior, and answer questions about how things came to be.
