Come and explore the history and different styles of traditional Japanese clothing such as the wedding kimono, formal kimono, summer kimono, yukata, jinbei, hakama and others.
A demonstration on how to wear a Yukata (summer casual kimono) will follow the presentation.
Since opening in 1977, Morikami has been a center for Japanese arts and culture in South Florida. The Morikami Collections house more than 7,000 Japanese art objects and artifacts, including a 500-piece collection of tea ceremony items, more than 200 textile pieces and fine art acquisitions.
