A Conversation with Maria Hinojosa, Author of ‘Once I Was You’

For nearly thirty years, Emmy Award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa has reported on stories and communities in America that often go ignored by the mainstream media. In Once I Was You, Maria shares her intimate experience growing up Mexican American on the South Side of Chicago.

Danbury Library and Western Connecticut State University are thrilled to welcome Maria Hinojosa to our community for a special conversation about her life, work, and Once I Was You.

In advance of this event, free copies of the paperback edition of Once I Was You will be available at Danbury Library, courtesy of The Friends of the Danbury Library. Danbury Library also has multiple copies of the hardcover, ebook, and audiobook in circulation.
